If You Fail to Plan, You Will Plan to Fail

Sometime philosophy teaches us a lot of thing. We can earn a lot from different philosophical thinking. There are inspiration words which can boost up our morale.
There are phrases that can bring back our happiness. From these words we can feel, we can learn and also we derive different attention and thinking. When I was taking my bachelor degree, my lecturer used to say “by studying philosophy people can clarify what they believe and they can think about ultimate question”.

Every institution of society is based on philosophic ideas, whether that institution is the law, government, religion, the family, marriage, industry, business or education. Philosophic phrase and ideas have led to the drastic change in society.

I’m writing all these today just to go through this philosophical phrase which state ”If you fail to plan, you will plan to fail-Benjamin Franklin”  whenever am going through this I come across different question. The meaning of this line implies that the youth is our future, which means that if we ignore the youth we neglect or impair our future; just that simple. There is a strong perception that most of the current social problems that are prevalent in the continent are the direct result of the neglect of youth desires, be it unemployment, prostitution, teenage pregnancies, increasing drug-users or dealers, crime, indiscipline, corruption and hunger.

In his articles: Youth and National Development, the author suggested that “The youth by nature have a lot of energy and expectations, and unless we guide them and channel it into productive and enterprising activities, it could easily be manipulated by others into destructive and unproductive ventures. A lot of youth are into drugs and crime not because they are intrinsically bad, but because they are bored and want something to do. The devil they say finds work for the idle hands. This is where an imaginative leader comes up with ideas like youth brigade to help clean the cities or help with rural development, or mass health education”

Nowadays, being a graduate from a reputable university with high marks is not enough to ensure rapid employment. There are many reasons behind the problem of youth unemployment, for example: lack of particular skills, wrong educational system, mismatches between education and needs in labor market, lack of self confidence, lack of self esteem, and of course structural lack of working places.

What can young people do to increase their employability then? How are they going to find a job? How are they going to effectively present themselves in the labor market and succeed? These are just some of the questions which youth and new graduates are looking their answers.

Waiting to hear from you
