The Youth Voice column

The column intends to describe a strategy in which young people are authentically engaged in working toward changing the systems that directly affect their lives. Instead of simply inviting a young person to speak to a group of practitioners or policy makers, or giving youth a role in a pre-determined agenda for communicating with people responsible for implementing policies and practices, the “youth voice” strategy puts youth at the center of articulating priorities and determining the best ways to get those priorities addressed
