African woman (Poem)

An African woman,
where has she gone?
i'm crying for her,
she is always quite,
she is genius in advice,
she fought for her family,
she never give up,
she always proud of her culture,
at the time of hardship,
she struggle to overcome it,

Community abandoned her,
but she is the first to forget and forgive,
she always count what she has,
she take as a challenge what she hasn't,
as long as African woman pure heart are still beating,

Nothing bad is going to happen in this continent,
An African woman i cry for,
where has she gone?
Who has kidnapped her?

May be she is there,
hiding behind the colored hair,
if that is the case why is she hiding there,
hey African Woman,
I call you by Your Character,
I wonder if you can see me,
or can you hear me?

When i look into her eyes,
what i see is tears,
but why is she crying?
the community has abandoned her,
despite she is a widow,
she is being humiliated,
I call her MAMA,
A PRECIOUS name of Mother,

She work up early in the morning,
walk 2km to fetch water,
when she is late back home,
her husband beat her,

I call you African Man,
You call yourself a giant,
How can you be a PAPA,
While you always BEAT MAMA,
Are you the reason of her disappear?
or Globalization is a reason?

When i close my eyes,
I see her smile,
I see her happy face,
I see her in deep love,

when i open my eyes,
I see she is crying,
she carry a heavy piece of wood on her head,
I see she is being exploited economically as a worker,
being used as a source of cheap labor because she is a female,
and being treated even worse because she is Black,
she also finds herself fighting the beauty "standards" of a white western society.

Now I hope you can hear my voice,
I’m praising you my MAMA,
since your PURE HEART is still BEATING,
I HOPE NOTHING BAD will going to HAPPEN in this CONTINENT,

I call you again AFRICAN MAN,
You heard my MAMA crying,
she claims you disrespect her,
you also oppress her,
and Now you claim to liberate her,
what kind of liberation are you talking to?

Daily, there are growing incidences,
similar mistreatment against women,
some happening even in police stations!
Our women have come to accept domestic violence and gender inequality,
sexual harassment as fait accomplish
and part of normal life situation and norm.
Which kind of liberation are you claim for?

This is my last word to you,
I’m always proud of you MAMA,
despite difficult you faces,
You never give up,
You always looks BEAUTIFUL,
especially in YOUR BLACK COLOR,
when you cry,
I will cry with you MOM,
I all steps you takes,
I will be behind you,
watch your steps, follow your steps.

PLEASE MOM don't hide there,
Come on tell the world who real you are,
Show the World why you were born AN AFRICA,
Show the World you are really PROUDLY PAN AFRICAN,
Come on, Show them your BLACK BEAUTY,
A TRUE, ATTRACTIVE COLOR, BLACK IS REALLY BEAUTY,
AS LONG AS YOUR PURE HEART STILL BEATING,
NOTHING BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME.
